All of these books are handmade by myself using rag paper and natural fibres where possible.
The rag paper is suitable for writing, drawing, and collage work. I sometimes mix the weight of the papers in each book so they are suitable for watercolour paint and washes, as well as oil crayons, pen and ink. Sometimes I also tear up old proofs from my printing and incorporate them into the pages as well.
The paper used for the covers is collected on my travels from Australia and overseas. As well as paper that has been "rusted" by myself for the earthy colours, textures and effects.
All of the threads used are waxed linen threads for strength and reliability, then stitched with Coptic or Celtic weave.
I make all of my own visual diaries for daily use and travel. They are a perfect way of recording everyday experiences and long lasting memories.
The sizes of the books vary from A5, A6 DL larger or smaller.
